Overview of the light removal tower

Core Advantage: An Al-Si-Cu-Ni Alloy Engineered for High-Temperature, High-Pressure Conditions

4032 aluminum alloy is a wrought aluminum alloy belonging to the 4000 series (Al-Si system), primarily alloyed with Silicon (Si) and Magnesium (Mg). Unlike common aluminum alloys, 4032 features a distinctive composition of 11.0-13.5% Silicon, along with strengthening elements like Copper (0.5-1.3%), Magnesium (0.8-1.3%), and Nickel (0.5-1.3%). This unique formulation delivers exceptional performance at elevated temperatures, characterized by low thermal expansion, high strength, and excellent wear resistance -1-7. It is the specialized material for forged pistons in internal combustion engines – the ideal choice for components enduring intense heat and pressure -1-6-7.

We provide more than just aluminum bars; we offer performance assurance for your high-temperature moving parts.

Why Choose 4032 Aluminum Alloy Bar?

1、Superior High-Temperature Performance

4032 alloy maintains good strength at elevated temperatures between 200-250°C. Its thermal expansion coefficient is only 19.4×10⁻⁶/℃ (20-100°C), ensuring dimensional stability during piston reciprocation within cylinders, reducing friction and oil consumption.

2、Excellent Wear Resistance and Fatigue Strength

The high silicon content (11-13.5%) provides the alloy with self-lubricating properties, significantly reducing wear and galling in high-load moving parts. The addition of Nickel and Copper further enhances high-temperature fatigue strength, enabling it to withstand millions of stress cycles inside engines.

3、Heat-Treatable Strength Adjustability

4032 is a heat-treatable alloy, offering different performance combinations through various aging processes.

4、T4 Temper: Naturally aged, offering moderate strength (Tensile ~310 MPa) with good ductility, suitable for complex machined parts.

T6 Temper: Artificially aged, maximizing strength (Tensile up to 415 MPa) and hardness, ideal for components subjected to extreme stress.

5、Good Machinability

Despite its high strength, 4032 offers good machinability. Its uniform microstructure and good chip-breaking characteristics allow for excellent surface finishes during CNC machining, reducing secondary processing costs. Carbide-tipped tools with coolant are recommended.

6、International Standards Cross-Reference

4032 aluminum corresponds to several national standards: China GB 4A11 (LD11) , USA AA 4032 (UNS A94032), Japan JIS A4032, and Russia ГOCT 1390 (AK9).

Contact us today for your tailored 4032 heat-resistant aluminum alloy bar solution!

Note: Due to its high silicon content, 4032 alloy is not suitable for cold working. For heat treatment, recommended parameters are solution treatment at 510°C for 1-12 hours, and artificial aging at 170°C for 10 hours (T6). When selecting temper, T4 is suitable for parts requiring extensive machining, while T6 is for final components under high stress. An improved variant, 4032B, can achieve strengths exceeding 408 MPa.
