API 5L PSL2/GB/T 9711 Standard – High-Strength Line Pipe Steel LSAW Pipe

Chemical equipment (the English name is Chemical Equipment) is a part of chemical machinery. Chemical machinery consists of two parts. The first part is chemical machinery, mainly referring to equipment such as fans for fluid transportation, compressors, various pumps, etc., whose main components ar

Product Description

LSAW steel pipe (Longitudinally Submerged Arc Welded pipe) is manufactured from a single medium or heavy plate as the raw material. The steel plate is pressed (rolled) into a tube blank in a mold or forming machine, then welded using the submerged arc welding process, and finally expanded in diameter. Based on its advantages of high reliability and safety performance, LSAW pipe is widely used in various pipeline engineering and construction projects, even under the most severe conditions. It is also suitable for applications in the chemical industry, electric power, irrigation, construction, and piling. For oil and gas pipelines, a key advantage of LSAW pipe is its ability to produce thicker wall thicknesses, up to a maximum of 120mm.

Core Advantage: Steel Plate Formed, Seam Weld as Solid as the Base Metal – Supporting the Framework of Industry

Longitudinally Submerged Arc Welded (LSAW) steel pipes are manufactured from steel plates, formed into shape through cold forming processes like JCOE, UOE, or RBE, and then welded inside and out using the submerged arc welding process, with the weld seam parallel to the longitudinal axis of the pipe. Different from High-Frequency Welded (ERW) pipes, LSAW pipes use steel plates as the raw material, overcoming the width limitations of hot-rolled coils. This makes them the preferred technology for large diameter and thick wall steel pipes.

We provide more than just pipes; we offer the core support for long-distance energy transmission and major engineering projects.

Why Choose LSAW Carbon Steel Pipes?

1、Superior Pressure Bearing and Safety Performance

Utilizing double-sided submerged arc welding, LSAW pipes feature welds with excellent toughness, plasticity, compactness, and high quality. For high-standard Class 1 and Class 2 areas such as alpine regions, seabeds, and urban densely populated zones, LSAW pipes are the only designated applicable pipe type according to API standards.

2、Comprehensive Coverage of Large Diameter, Thick Wall, and Long Lengths

Through JCOE or UOE forming technology, LSAW pipes can be manufactured with outer diameters of 406mm-1820mm, wall thicknesses of 6mm-100mm, and lengths up to 12.8 meters or even 18 meters, meeting the stringent requirements of large-scale projects.

3、Excellent Dimensional Accuracy and Low Residual Stress

The process of mechanical expansion after forming results in low and uniformly distributed internal stress, effectively preventing stress corrosion cracking. It also ensures high dimensional accuracy, greatly facilitating on-site welding construction.

4、100% Non-Destructive Testing Guarantee

Strict adherence to online X-ray industrial TV and ultrasonic testing during production, with options for third-party inspections (e.g., SGS, BV), ensures every pipe leaves the factory with zero defects.

Key Application Areas

Oil & Gas Industry: Main long-distance transmission pipelines for oil and natural gas on land and offshore, as well as urban gas pipeline networks.

Offshore Engineering: Structural pipes for offshore platforms, deep-sea pipelines, and riser/sinking piles for seawater, requiring corrosion resistance and fatigue strength.

Power Generation: Cooling water pipelines in power plants, circulating water systems, heating network pipes, and boiler steel structure supports.

Construction & Bridges: Pipes for large stadiums, airport terminals, bridge arches ribs, and foundation piling, bearing heavy loads.

Water Conservancy & Municipal Engineering: Large-diameter water transmission projects, pressure pipes for diversion tunnels, and process pipes in wastewater treatment plants.

Stock & Customization: Regular inventory of LSAW pipes in various materials and wall thicknesses, with services for non-standard length cutting, anti-corrosion coating, and custom beveled ends.

International Certification: Certified with API 5L, ISO 9001, CE (PED), and Classification Society approvals (CCS/ABS), with products exported globally.

Conclusion: Whether it's the long oil and gas dragons traversing the Gobi desert or the steel platforms standing tall at sea, LSAW carbon steel pipes, with their solid quality and immense load-bearing capacity, drive the pulse of modern industry. Contact us today for your tailored large-diameter piping solution!

Note: When the pipe diameter exceeds 914mm (36 inches), due to steel plate width limitations, a manufacturing process using two straight seams is often permitted. These two seams are symmetrically distributed 180° apart and undergo equally rigorous non-destructive testing, ensuring reliable performance. Please select the appropriate steel grade (e.g., X60, X65, or X70) based on your design pressure, transmission media, and environmental temperature.
