Grade-Specific Performance & Chemical Composition
1. Grade 201 Cold Rolled Coil (High Manganese, Cost-Effective)
Chemistry: Cr 16-18%, Mn 5.5-7.5%, Ni 3.5-5.5%, N ≤0.25%
Performance: Higher yield strength than 304. Work hardens rapidly. Suitable for mild corrosive environments (indoor). Non-magnetic in annealed state, magnetic after cold rolling.
Best For: Dry indoor architectural panels, luggage hardware, kitchen utensils.
2. Grade 304/304L Cold Rolled Coil (Versatile Industry Standard)
Chemistry: Cr 18-20%, Ni 8-10.5% (304L: C ≤0.03%)
Performance: Excellent oxidation resistance up to 870°C. Superior deep drawing characteristics. 304L prevents carbide precipitation during welding.
Best For: Food grade tanks, sinks, heat exchangers, pharmaceutical piping.
3. Grade 316L Cold Rolled Coil (Molybdenum-Enhanced, Maximum Corrosion Resistance)
Chemistry: Cr 16-18%, Ni 10-14%, Mo 2-3% (C ≤0.03%)
Performance: 2-3x pitting resistance of 304 in chloride environments. Resists sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and acetic acid. Non-magnetic.
Best For: Marine hardware, coastal building facades, chemical valve bodies, surgical instruments.
Precision Processing Capabilities
We provide value-added services to reduce your fabrication costs:
Precision Slitting: Tolerance ±0.1mm, burr height ≤0.03mm. Min slit width 10mm.
Cut-to-Length (CTL): Sheets cut from coil, length tolerance ±0.5mm, diagonal tolerance ≤1mm.
Surface Protection: Laser-grade PVC (50-100μm), PE film, or Paper interleaving for scratch-free deep drawing.
Edge Conditioning: Deburring and rounding for safe handling and welding prep.
Packaging: Export standard seaworthy wooden pallets, waterproof paper, steel straps, corner protection.
Quality Assurance & Certifications

Third-Party Verification: SGS, BV, TUV, Intertek inspection supported.
PMI Testing: 100% Positive Material Identification on raw material and finished coils.
ISO Certified: ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001, PED 2014/68/EU (for 304/316L pressure vessel grades).
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the price difference between 201, 304, and 316L stainless steel coils?
A: Generally, 201 is 30-40% cheaper than 304. 316L is typically 40-50% higher than 304 due to Nickel and Molybdenum content. Prices fluctuate daily with LME nickel prices. Contact us for a real-time quote based on your thickness and width.
Q: Can you supply 0.5mm thickness 316L coil with BA finish for medical device stamping?
A: Yes. We stock 316L BA finish coils from 0.3mm to 1.5mm. The BA finish provides a smooth, reflective surface ideal for precision stamping and minimizes tool wear. We can provide surface roughness (Ra) reports.
Q: How do you guarantee the thickness tolerance of 0.3mm thin gauge coils?
A: We use 20-High Sendzimir Mills with automatic gauge control (AGC). For thickness <0.5mm, we guarantee tolerance within ±0.02mm. Each coil is scanned by laser thickness gauge before slitting.
Q: Do you offer LCL (Less than Container Load) shipping for trial orders?
A: Yes, we support LCL shipment from Shanghai/Ningbo port. Minimum order for trial is typically 1 ton per specification for standard grades (304/201). 316L may require 2 tons.
